Leasing with CSI can help you achieve sustainability initiatives.
Organizations around the world are increasingly more conscious of sustainability and the impact their carbon footprint has on the planet. Businesses across all industries, along with governments, schools and non-profits, are making a greater effort to enhance their sustainability initiatives. Given the recent U.N. report on climate change, these efforts will most likely increase rapidly.
While it’s important to analyze your entire organization’s environmental impact, know that leasing technology with CSI can help move your environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) goals forward.
The circular economy is all about increasing a product’s lifespan. When you return off-lease technology back to CSI, we do our best to extend its life as long as possible through our remarketing and recycling subsidiary, EPC. Re-use is the most effective way to eliminate e-waste and the core of enhancing a circular economy. Once equipment arrives at EPC, data is securely wiped according to NIST 800-88 and then audited by certified technicians to determine remaining value. EPC will then resell the equipment in the secondary market, thereby providing an economic incentive for sustainability.
CSI also offers employee, faculty or student purchase programs, allowing your community to purchase your off-lease technology at affordable prices.
Electronic waste contains toxic materials that are harmful to our health and environment, yet the world produces as much as 50 million tons of electronic waste per year, according to the United Nations. Organizations around the world know it’s important to do their part to create a sustainable future for the communities in which we live.
As e-Stewards, EPC has been committed to tackling this problem for well over 30 years. In addition to CSI’s customers, hundreds of organizations, including numerous Fortune 500 enterprises, turn to EPC for secure and environmentally-friendly electronics recycling services. When returned items are unable to be sold in the secondary market, EPC will break down equipment into reusable raw materials. Its world-class recycling operations are designed to safely remove toxic materials and keep them out of the environment. You can rest assured knowing that all end-of-life IT assets are disposed of according to local and national environmental laws. We also provide our customers with Certificates of Recycling to continue to enhance their CSR and ESG initiatives around the world.
We offer two types of sustainability reporting, one for refurbished equipment and another for recycled equipment. Both reports show how much e-waste you saved from landfills by choosing to lease with CSI. Our recycling sustainability report provides a breakdown of raw materials stripped from your equipment that is recycled. This includes aluminum, cardboard, processors, hard disc drives, lead batteries, plastic, steel, wire, and much, much more. All reports are available online and can be downloaded anytime for your records.
EPC works closely with each processing facility throughout its owned and global network to ensure procedures are completed at the highest quality with your organization’s security preferences in mind. Adhering to the most recognized industry standards, we strive for our processes to be compliant, secure and consistent at each of our locations across the world.
Leasing with CSI can help you achieve your CSR and sustainability goals. We strive to preserve natural resources and help customers enhance green initiatives with transparency.
